@beatingthebook @KelleyBydlon the misprints are still worth more.. I was going thru my childhood cards and the one that is worth the most in my entire collection is a donruss misprint. I almost didn’t even look at it cause it isn’t a well known player.

The problem with @mckaycoppins’s piece, which AFAIK he has not addressed, is that his betting strategy actually seemed to be working out sort of OK—until the NFL season was about to end, he needed a good ending for his story, and so he abruptly bet more than half his bankroll 1/2

You lost a bunch of money because there was no story if you didnt. You made no attempt to actually learn how to gamble, you followed someone ridiculous which you could have avoid with a simple Google/Twitter search and you fired a bet 60x your normal wager o 1 game. You Cleary had an agenda going in

4. But really, the point of my story is not that I lost a bunch of money. What makes this new era of frictionless online betting so dangerous is how easily it robs you of time, well-being, meaningful experiences, peace of mind, etc.

In my review of @mckaycoppins article I said that rec books' marketing is psychological warfare. This is exhibit A. "Respect for the craft of betting" is a straight up lie. If you're a skilled bettor, you're not welcome at bet365.
What they really want are people who falsely believe that they are skilled bettors.

Sinners is one of those movies where I kept thinking ok maybe it gets better from here. And then it never does.
