A family of five who sold all their belongings and borrowed ₦20 million to relocate to the UK have reportedly been deported. The family included a husband, wife, two children, and the wife’s late sister’s daughter. After spending about two years in the UK, the wife allegedly decided to act on past grievances against her husband. Since she was the main visa holder with a work permit and the rest were dependents, she reported to authorities that she wanted to remove her husband from her visa, effectively ending their marriage. The husband was then notified to leave the country within a short period. Faced with debt and uncertainty, he sought legal help and revealed that one of the children was not biologically theirs and had not been legally adopted or declared during their relocation process. Authorities followed up, and DNA tests confirmed the child was not related to either of them. This violation led to legal consequences, and despite attempts to reverse the situation, the case had already escalated. In the end, the entire family was deported back to Nigeria.

Wike didn’t just talk—he basically stood there and told everybody, “If I don’t approve you, don’t even bother dreaming.” In 2026. In a place that’s supposed to run on votes, not permission. You have to ask yourself—who exactly does he think he is? INEC? The constitution? Or just the landlord of Rivers State handing out keys? Because that statement sounded like ownership. And it’s the confidence for me and boldness he exhibits, that, “this is how it works” energy. Like the rest of the state is just extras in a movie he’s directing. For wetin? Yes, we know he’s powerful. We’ve heard it a thousand times. Structure, loyalists, influence—fine. Nobody is arguing that. But power is one thing. Acting like nobody else should even try without your blessing? That’s where it starts to look embarrassing. Because now it’s not even about leadership again. It’s about control. You’re basically telling grown men and women, people with ambition, plans, supporters—that their entire political future depends on whether you wake up one morning and decide you like them. Yet Rivers People are just sittigntthere and watching. Doing absolutely nothing. That’s not strength. That’s insecurity wearing confidence. Statements like this don’t make you look bigger.
