I want to clarify the process for the appointment of the CEO of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA). The position was internationally advertised and attracted several applicants from Jamaica and abroad. A structured selection process was conducted by an independent panel, which included senior officials such as the Cabinet Secretary, the head of the Port Authority of Jamaica, Professor Gordon Shirley, who also chairs the Police Services Commission, and the head of the Transformation Implementation Unit. I was not involved in reviewing applications or shortlisting candidates. The process was managed at arm’s length to ensure fairness and transparency in the appointment.

The good work of the Parliament in passing the ground-breaking NaRRA Bill, piloted by the governing @jlpjamaica , came under attack last evening due to the shambolic and detestable behavior of @JamaicaPNP MPs, especially @brownburke . Get a hold of your members @MarkJGolding 🇯🇲 deserves better!

I agree completely. What happened in Parliament crossed the line and set a poor example. Any attempt to interfere with the mace, followed by refusing to withdraw after being formally named, shows clear disregard for the rules that keep the House functioning properly. Her conduct in this situation is a disgrace and should be treated as such to preserve the dignity and authority of the House.

What we just witnessed in Parliament is totally unacceptable. The PNP’s Angela Brown-Burke attempt to interfere with the mace, followed by her refusal to withdraw after being named by the Speaker, undermines the authority and dignity of the House. Parliament must uphold order and respect.

I had a great talk with Executives of Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional affiliate of the Jamaica Labour Party. We discussed where Jamaica is headed and how the next generation can help shape that path. Since 2000, G2K has been creating space for fresh ideas, new energy, and meaningful engagement in public life. It is encouraging to see so many young leaders ready to step up and make a difference.
