We need three functioning, independent branches of govt. That was the Framers' design and intent. Checks and balances only works when each branch, while interdependent, recognizes their duty to operate. We do not have that right now and it is crippling our nation.

The number of fatal crashes over the past year is shocking and unacceptable. Our systems are all at a breaking point and we want to live as if that isn't the case. Instead of petty fighting to gain political points and advantages over the other side, we need leaders to lead.

My wife and I were talking the other day about potential career options for my 15 yrs old daughter who really struggles in school and is likely not college bound/material. For guys it’s easy… Don’t want to go to college, pick a trade or figure something else out such as a police officer, firefighter etc. It’s not as easy for girls. I think she would do well in sales since she is attractive, has the personality and is extremely social (spends hours everyday talking on the phone to all her friends). For parents with daughters who aren’t on the college path…what are some real, high-income career options you’ve seen work?

@SimoneHCollins Oof. This is as cynical as his post. I love living in a city (and have a normal sized fridge). Most of my family live in suburbs and enjoy them. I think it's possible for people to genuinely enjoy urban life and for others to enjoy suburban life. We're all different!

Can someone explain to us what urban 34-year-olds are doing in the cities that's so fun and special? We remember walking to the grocery store, trying to pack a week's worth of food into a small fridge and freezer, and maybe being robbed blind for mediocre food at a restaurant.

@tbonier @SenFettermanPA Perhaps...but that doesn't matter to the people unable to pay their bills. Our govt. has become far too focused on winning political battles and there seems to be too little care for the impact of large swaths of Americans. Politics is far outweighing governing.

@MaryBowdenMD In the 2026 Main Residency Match, 38,354 applicants matched to PGY-1 positions. Overall, 44,344 total positions were offered, and the match rate for U.S. MD seniors remained at 93.5%. So, while deeply unfortunate, 1,367 out of 44,344 seems like a very low percentage.

@brianschatz For the amount of waste, fraud and abuse, we could also likely do the same. Because we are in fact so wealthy as a nation, we waste a tremendous amount through administrative laxity. Both of these issues are demonstrative of a lack of moral clarity, discipline and responsibility.

Why say this is “thin stuff”? JLG wants to do right by the residents in DC. She has no idea whatsoever of how much money DC has in reserves and how to balance the needs with her desires. I really don’t like Taylor Frankie Paul but that video was such clear evidence of reactive abused and how horrific it can get. This happened 3 years ago, she was arrested & pled guilty. She did therapy + DV/AM classes. Dakota is an abuser who chose to release that to ruin her.
