@saradietschy How is the Monitor & Control app holding up in all this? I'm using the swit 7" (same as osee 7") with my FX3.
Love it,, but i miss the touch to fucus and other control options.

Kind of crazy the original Atomos Shinobi monitor doesn't have 9:16 guidelines...
Need a new on camera mounted monitor for an FX3 setup... new shinobi? portkeys with camera control? smallhd??

@joeyfameli I use it all the time with the membership version. Started using the portal service inside wetransfer two years ago for clients to review photos and video.

Halo s02 does a lot more interesting stuff with the material (mostly from books), than s01, but i cant help but think that master chief should have been a side character that flows in and out of other main characters orbit

Here’s a rule of thumb when dealing with clients: If they ask you to shoot only for 16X9, don’t believe them! In post, when it’s too late already, they will still ask you to adapt it to 9X16, and blame you for it not looking good.
So just shoot for both, AKA Open Gate if you can

THE CREATOR has been sitting in my mind all day, and I’m truly excited to see it again on Saturday.
I have complicated thoughts on the story but I’m hoping the 2nd watch will iron out some missing elements.
go see it if you can. still a huge recommend.

THE CREATOR is the best looking blockbuster (outside of Oppenheimer) since The Batman, I’d even put it right up there with BR2049 for sci-fi cinematography. It looks phenomenal. I caught myself smirking just taking it all in. The production design and locations are nuts. Some of the best CGI of recent years. Insanely good needle drops, and JDW has some moments that might be his best on screen to date. Despite all that, I found the story a bit clunky. It seems it a bit chopped together and rushed narratively while also leaving me feeling a bit empty with what it wanted to say. I need a second watch to take it all in, as perhaps I was just distracted by the aesthetics. Definitely catch it on the biggest screen you can. This is absolutely a theater movie, and regardless of story issues its look and world building is worth your time.

Sometimes people ask me why I own so much in black. Honestly, black being my favourite colour makes life soooo much easier. It’s gorgeous and it allows me to never have to make decisions. Just give me a black iPhone, black shoes, black everything, and I’ll love it 😂
