Indigenous People are more likely to be homeless because of the ongoing impacts of colonialism. All levels of government need to work together and alongside Indigenous Peoples from both urban and rural communities to create meaningful and impactful solutions to the homelessness crisis. @DianaCMcNally @bethechange1682 @fordnation Locally we clarified it’s not new housing. It’s just support for those in housing. Like a lot of the Ford gov decisions, municipalities are footing most of the bills from the fallout of removing safe consumption sites.

None of us knows what a HART Hub is, and @fordnation won't clarify their model or what they do. None of the housing associated with HART Hubs is online, and there is a growing worry that these hubs will become the architecture of forced treatment.

NEW: Ontario formally announces plans to wind down provincial funding for 7 remaining supervised drug-use sites - two in Toronto, two in Ottawa and one site each in Niagara, Peterborough and London. Will be replaced with Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub.
