NOAA Fisheries has done a good job creating the science and tools we need to prepare fisheries for climate change. Now we just have to use them. IRA funding for #ClimateReadyFisheries can help bridge the gap between science and management.

.@NOAAFisheries has released the 2022 #StatusofStocks, which shows the health of U.S. fisheries. 🐟 Despite recent progress in restoring fish populations, the U.S. still isn’t doing enough to keep up with climate change. 🚨 LEARN MORE: bit.ly/3oRNMyE

The IPCC Synthesis Report released today has a clear message: to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, we need to drastically cut emissions: ipcc.ch/report/ar6/syr/ Climate change is the single biggest risk facing our ocean. We need #OceanClimateAction now.

Super important, @NOAAFisheries published the rule to calibrate landings from private anglers for Gulf red snapper today. This rule is absolutely necessary to restore sustainability and fairness, and to bring the mgmt system into compliance with the law. oceanconservancy.org/news/statement…

Spotted on Facebook. This is such a cool example of phyllody (parts of flowers being replaced with leaves or other structures) in a sunflower! This can be environmental, but in plants of the Asteraceae family, it's often a disease called Aster Yellows caused by phytoplasma. 🌻

@CliffordTheHutt Blue could be good too as long as it’s not too cold! I’d recommend trying out a few paint samples if you haven’t already. Also get a good primer because that color will probably have staying power.
