Once again we have to ask ourselves which party will militarized the border, slash public benefits, pour funding into the cops, and leave our neighbors to die in the street. Vote or not: do more. Show up in your community, build networks of support.

This policy would make sure that a bunch of business owners and residents suddenly have shit happening on their corners where it wasn’t happening before. Probably without actually satisfying the business owners and residents in the places where it used to be happening the most.

From our perspective we expect lake city to become even more busy and existing services even more strained as cops pick people up in soap/soda zones and drop them in other towns and neighborhoods where they don't know anyone or what services exist

Once again Cathy Moore and her collaborators on the Council are tryimg to kill their constituents. Every soda/soap zone is a hub of care from mutual aid, clinics, food banks, housing services, and community. These are peoples homes.

NOW: The Public Safety Committee will discuss and possibly vote on SODA and SOAP laws. Commenters say the bills won't reduce crime, just move it into different areas, encourage to racist, sexist, and transphobic harrasment and perpetuate the cycle of poverty.
