So the commander in chief makes a war speech begging for domestic support and foreign help and the next day the entire Army leadership is surprised and has to scramble to figure out the top leadership structure and chain…. in the middle of a war.
We need to know why.

More: George was in a meeting today when he got a call from Hegseth delivering the news, a US official said. Another official said senior Army leadership was caught off guard by the announcement that George would be retiring immediately, finding out at the same time as everyone else.
