I love small but impactful changes like this in WooCommerce! The team (shoutout to @jorgealtrapo) has been working on improving the database update experience. The update nag will soon be disabled by default, with updates scheduled automatically. But don’t worry, the filter is still there if you want to re-enable it. We’ve also added a filter to delay the scheduling of the update and added log entries to track when updates happen. Coming very soon! Check out the full PR: github.com/woocommerce/wo…

@jamesckemp Nothing wrong with the name, but we (builders) need clarity around what it means. For example, what exactly is coming to core, and how do you decide what goes into core and what doesn't. We don't want to waste resources building things that you are going to give away for free.

I've heard some concerns about the name "more in core". The name implies bloat, and doesn't reflect what the initiative is about. We're evolving WooCommerce core to include key features merchants and builders need from day one. This creates a solid foundation that developers can build amazing solutions on top of, while giving users essential ecommerce tools without requiring dozens of plugins for basic functionality. Which name resonates better?

HelpScout finally changed their pricing from per-agent to per-contact. For teams of 3 agents or more, this will be cheaper than before. I never understood why they billed per agent, this is a welcome change! I'm still happy with my $600/yr cost saving by moving to FreeScout, but this does put HelpScout back on the radar!

A lot of it is about been in the right niche, at the right time, with the right people. There are many factors beyond your control, like the competition, Google (or other platform) updates, and tech trends that will play a large factor in your success.

I don't get these kinds of tweets. The advice below is so abstract as to be useless. Hit 250,000 impressions a month by tweeting every day, launch a SaaS charging $30 a month (god knows what for exactly), grow the business for a few years and sell for a huge multiple. Right.
