2/ Unfortunately, the law does not apply retroactively. Elephants who are already living in zoos — including Lucy at the Edmonton Valley Zoo — are not automatically relocated to sanctuaries. That means Lucy's future has not yet changed.

1/ Canada has taken an important step forward for elephants. New federal legislation will help end the future of elephant captivity by restricting the breeding and import of elephants into Canada. But many people are asking what this means for Lucy.

Hello Lucy Supporters! I  hope you’re staying warm these days. Speaking of weather, If anyone has the time & opportunity to visit the zoo & obtain new video footage of Lucy walking, that would be really helpful. We have not gotten much coverage of her "in action" So any help 🙏💜

We are pleased to announce Andrew Knack is Edmonton's new mayor. Unfortunately he alone could not make anything change for Lucy. In order for a motion to pass, there has to be a majority in favor. The Mayor has an equal🗳️to the 12 elected City Councillors. So our work is not done
