Chief Justice Wagner's refusal to recuse himself shows profoundly poor judgment. Many Canadians now believe he should step down from the bench. When the head of the Supreme Court is blind to such overt bias, it puts the entire institution into disrepute.
Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms@JCCFCanada

Chief Justice Richard Wagner has denied a request to recuse himself from the Emergencies Act case, saying his 2022 comments about the Freedom Convoy protests have nothing to do with the issues on appeal: nationalpost.com/news/politics/…. Since 2022, Canada’s top judge has publicly denounced the peaceful Freedom Convoy protest as “anarchy,” as “taking other citizens hostage,” as Canadians “taking the law into their own hands,” as a protest fuelled by a “certain ignorance” and “bad understanding” of Canadian law. He publicly stated that these “forceful attacks” against the justice system and democratic institutions should be strongly condemned. In spite of these obviously biased comments, Chief Justice Wagner believes there is no legal reason for him to step aside from the case. His staff states: “there is no actual or reasonable apprehension of bias that would require his recusal under the applicable legal test.”

🚨BREAKING🚨 Today at Science and Research committee, each and every one of Carney's Liberals voted AGAINST resuming debate on my motion to study the $200 million gravel pit and the find out which Liberal insiders got rich. Canadians deserve transparency, but the Liberals are sweeping their corruption under the rug using their newly manufactured majority.

As predicted, Carney and his corporate banking buddies are coming after your pensions. If you don’t get why he wanted to be Prime Minister by now, you never will but your kids and grandkids will surely find out when they pick up the scattered pieces of what’s left of 🇨🇦. #cdnpoli

@quoltanRIP The Conservatives are collapsing because they’re a far right party under my former MP Pierre Poilievre, who we voted out after 21 yrs of doing nothing. He has no financial or global experience. PMMC was Governor of Bank of Canada who saved us during the 2008 Great Recession.

This is what fiscal suicide looks like. A former Conservative cabinet minister just dropped the truth on CBC: By 2030 the Liberals will be spending **$81 BILLION per year** — just on interest payments on the debt. Up 50% from $54 billion today. That’s money ripped out of healthcare, infrastructure, and everything else… all so Carney can keep borrowing and spending like there’s no tomorrow. Our kids and grandkids are getting stuck with the bill. This is the Liberal majority in action — no excuses left

💥COMMUNIST AGENDA CONFIRMED: While Canadian families are drowning in mortgage debt and others can't afford one—the Carney Government is funnelling taxpayer funds to municipalities—so they can buy up real estate to house immigrants.

The new Parliamentary Budget Officer released her 1st report and it is not good for the Liberals. Why did the Liberals conveniently omit the $65 billion NATO commitment. In the Spring Economic Report: There’s no mention of Canada’s new goal of devoting 5% of GDP to defence or defence-flavoured things (3.5% of core defence spending), which Ryan says would add $65 billion to the deficit in 2035-36. This adds “material upside risk to the deficit and debt projections,”

The relationship between Canada and Europe is only getting stronger. Canada’s participation to the European Political Community meeting says it all. From trade to critical raw materials and defence - our cooperation and Strategic Partnership is expanding fast and going from strength to strength. I also want to thank you for Canada’s support for Ukraine and our joint work to bring abducted children back home.

Why is it that every time our leaders speak, they sound like they’re auditioning for a job at the UN? Why is our ‘sovereignty’ always tied to some foreign ‘imperative’ or ‘strategic partnership’ that costs us billions with little to no benefit to us, while our own productivity and economy stalls? Mark Carney now says the world will be ‘rebuilt out of Europe.’ I say the world should be looking at a strong, independent, and unapologetic Canada. We need to stop leeching onto other nations' identities and start being proud of our own. Citizens of most nations would be appalled by their leaders going on stage and saying that being a 'post-national' state without pride or a core identity is an achievement. Everywhere else in the world, being a nation is a point of pride; in Ottawa, it’s treated like a hurdle to be cleared on the way to the next international summit. Canada isn't a 'post-national' experiment—it’s a country. It’s time we started acting like it.

Homelessness has largely increased because the federal Liberal government flooded the province with TFWs, Foreign students and refugee/asylum seekers. They provided little to no support to house this flood of newcomers.
Diana Chan McNally@DianaCMcNally

Since 2018, homelessness in Ontario has grown from 54,664 people to 84,973 — a 55% increase. @fordnation has consistently underfunded social assistance and services at the scale required, failed on housing, and shut down safe consumption sites. He helped create the problem.
