@A_Andersen_ He is good but who is better Kees Smith or Ayyoub Bouaddi?

Ayyoub Bouaddi (18/ 🇫🇷/ LOSC Lille) provides another great opportunity in the summer market for Liverpool and their needs for a defensive midfielder. As a player Bouaddi is a phenomenal ball winner, with a great physical presence in duels, high IQ and reading of the game while being quick for his position. Despite his young age, Ayyoub is a regular starter and standout player for Lille, especially defensively. With 5.33 duels won (56.3%), 0.94 aerial duels won (61.1%), 5.46 recoveries, 2.3 tackles and 1.07 interceptions. Really proving himself as an anchor in the middle of the pitch, shielding the defenders really well. As well as that Ayyoub is very calm and comfortable on the ball, supported by the data. 33.5 successful passes (84.2%), 1.28 successful long passes (73.2%), 1.19 successful dribbles (58.3%) and 56.6 touches with only 0.85 dispossessions. Genuinely really good at winning the ball and either calming play or progressing play from phase 1 to 2 or 2 to 3. He isn’t the most creative, nor is he a goal scorer or box crasher. But Ayyoub Bouaddi does what you want your #6 to do, win the ball and progress it. He’s still just 18, so his potential to grow is massive and due to the financial situation of French football, he won’t be overly expensive.

@BigStonedBug @A_Andersen_ I understand your point All I am saying is that we have to get ready to sell Mamardashvili too if we can’t guarantee first choice place.

@LFCPundit1 @A_Andersen_ I'm not putting his emotions over what we need. At the top, gks need to be able to use their feet comfortably and not just hoof everytime

Personally I don’t believe Mamardashvili is the man for the #1 at Liverpool, so with Alisson leaving, I believe we should be bringing in a new goalkeeper. With that being said, the pool of players on the market is pretty limited, but I name I really do like I Robin Risser from RC Lens. He’s been PHENOMENAL for them this season, helping them to 2nd in the league, closely behind PSG. And his data is also really good. Holding a 72.7% save percentage, best among U21 keepers, he’s kept 10 clean sheets as well, and is good at commanding the box and claiming crosses. The most important and the trait that differentiates him from Mamardashvili, is his ability to get off the line and play with his feet. He’s one of the best passers with a 77.8% successful rate, while also hitting 43.2% of his long passes. He’s also managed to create 17 chances and gotten an assist as a goalkeeper. In general Robin Risser has the shot stopping ability needed at the top, but he’s also comfortable on the ball and playing a part of the build up. He’s still only 21 years old, so he will improve as well. That to me, makes him the best possible replacement for Alisson

@AnfieldSector Dumfries seems to me like we're putting a square peg into a round hole, he's a wingback for club and country, not a fullback.

It seems Liverpool are considering signing a right-back this summer. Jeremie Frimpong was not recruited specifically for that role.

@A_Andersen_ Mamardashvili should take number 1 spot, he will grow into that position and become world class

With it being close to a foregone conclusion that Alisson will also be leaving this summer, I’m extremely worried about how much upheaval we are doing once again. Especially with the GK position, while I’m aware Mama is there, I don’t think he’s good enough with his feet. But when you look at the market and who could be available, it’s bleak. Names like Robin Roefs, Mike Penders, Robin Risser and Restes are close to the top, hardly world beaters, all young and inexperienced. While I appreciate that Ali is declining, I still don’t think anyone is good enough to replace him currently, which is why i question the decision.

@LFCPundit1 What, to start for Liverpool? It’s probably best not right now. Pecsi could probably play and do a good job with first-team experience. Misciur has played U18 football this season but I don’t see the need to include either.

Sometimes it is necessary but one of my biggest gripes in modern football is the changing of half the time every season. Makes it hard to buy in and grow connections, it seems Liverpool had been able to avoid that until now as it looks like we’re set for another big summer.

Virgil van Dijk: “You have to ask the question to the guys higher up. The leadership boys are falling apart — in terms of players leaving — so players have to step up and see what the guys making the decisions are going to do. But I’m pretty sure everyone has the right intentions to make us, as a club, competitive and hopefully not have a season like we’re having this season again.”

I can't wait for Salah to let loose on Slot after he leaves 🍿 Without Salah and his generational season Slot would already be back managing in Holland so he should be extremely thankful to him. Yet instead he appears to be leaking nonsense against Salah😡

[🟢] NEW: Despite the waters calming [after the truce in December], Arne Slot privately felt vindicated by his decision to take Mohamed Salah out of the team, believing it made his side more compact out of possession. While the football was not always easy on the eye, they went on an unbeaten run that lasted 13 games.
