Post-Combine Mock Draft (2-rounds) "Dude stole the freaking show." "Easily the best O-line workout this year." Plenty of scout feedback in this mock: nytimes.com/athletic/70811…

@LandryLocker Would have rather made a run at someone else for that price. Aaron Jones for a 7th maybe. Durability issues yea but Montgomery did have knee surgery 2 seasons ago. I guess we will see.

DeMeco Ryans didn't explicitly confirm Nick Caley would return as the offensive coordinator yesterday, but I expected and expect he will return. McDaniel was one of the only other scenarios I would have been interested in the Texans exploring. That will not happen.
Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero

The Chargers plan to hire Mike McDaniel as their offensive coordinator, per sources. McDaniel is still a candidate for the Raiders and Ravens head coaching jobs. But if McDaniel is an OC in 2026, it’s expected to be in L.A.

@LFGHOUSTON it’s missing NBC / Turner, and you need internet to get it. Really good on mobile, interface is shaky, and it’s more expensive than it should be. Great if you have a lot of tvs.

As a jobless man living under an overpass, I hate whoever narrates these sleeper ads for FuboTV / and the Houston based Fubo ads. No energy. There’s things for that.

@mattlanza Hopefully the grid holds up. And hopefully 97 stays just a shock factor headline. Appreciate the updates!

Eric has our AM update. I continue to advise folks to be weather aware with cold and possibly ice coming. While the cold may not be as extreme as events in recent years, it will require preparation and monitoring. The ice is definitely a concern but forecast details are sketchy.
Eric Berger@SpaceCityWX

Our latest update from this morning is included here. Stay weather aware for this weekend. While we expect cold, perhaps not *extreme* cold, there is a chance it comes with ice. The details: spacecityweather.com/with-an-arctic…

@TexansCommenter @Clint44188955 Still terrible. He needs to get a good sports psychologist and take some leadership classes like Eli Manning and others did. Cause there's no way who we seen his rookie year is even the same guy. Lance Zierlein mentioned a guy they had that helped with mental part. Need him back

Stroud wasn’t nearly as bad in the second half, and the Texans still lost. I don’t think it can be confidently stated that inserting Mills at halftime suddenly flips the outcome. You can argue that Mills starting the game might have changed things, but expecting a head coach to predict this specific game script and preemptively bench his franchise QB isn’t realistic. The same goes for pulling Stroud midway through the second quarter, that’s almost entirely hindsight imo. The reality is we’ll never know, because Mills never played, and I honestly don’t know how anyone can speak with certainty either way. Could Mills have won this game if he started from the beginning or came in midway through the second? Maybe. Maybe not. There’s no clean or honest answer to that, and stating otherwise is just guessing imo. It can be stated that anyone playing quarterback in that situation would’ve dealt with constant interior pressure, no run game, depleted pass-catching options, and the same conditions. Swapping quarterbacks doesn’t erase those problems, so it’s truly an unknown to me. Part of me genuinely wishes the sub did happen, just so we’d know one way or the other and wouldn’t still be stuck having this debate.
Oyinkansola@oyinkeezy

@TexansCommenter All the team needed was a QB that would protect the ball and put up some points while the defense carried the bulk of the load… he was so awful that everything the defense did was meaningless… Davis Mill would’ve won that game…

The amount of ppl that don’t understand what a catch is in the rule book flabbergasts me. And it’s not the officials. The two plays yesterday were not difficult calls, and they got them both right.

C.J. Stroud said he played well in the second half and he flushed the mistakes from the first half. He said he responded the best way he could have responded. He said he’s going to rely on times when he has had better performances as a standard what he wants to achieve.

@TexansCommenter @Clint44188955 Could have had at least 2 in the 2nd half that were dropped. He wasn't himself and hasn't been since the concussion. Panics. Plays scared. Doesn't run the ball. Throws passes like will levis.
