Today we had Kea Te Tauihu come and join us for another session of Digital Technology. The children of Toroa Te Kei supported them in creating a battle bot which was controlled and driven by a Sphero. It was awesome to see how creative the teams were with their bot designs!!

This week we explored the concept of tuakana-tiena and how we can share our knowledge with others. On Friday we welcomed Kea Te Tauihu into our classroom where we supported them in exploring a range of digital technologies including LittleBits and Makey Makey! @LHaggitt1

Bitterly cold but fun day planting today with Christchurch City Council at Te Oranga Waikura Urban Forest. Students learnt heaps about native trees, insects and wildlife. @ChristchurchCC

Dear young people, Vote! If you're thinking "One vote won't make a difference", think of it this way... You get to cancel out the vote of a Boomer.

We’ve been extremely lucky to have an expert paper plane maker show us how to make planes that will actually fly for our estimate and measurement unit, here they are in action!

We are learning to make estimates. Today we tested paper planes, estimated the distance they flew, measured, and then calculated the average distance of each plane!

This week we began learning about measurement and making estimates to the closest centimetre, students have enjoyed estimating the length/width of classroom items and today we did our hands and feet!
