@Johnnymetal80 @JCMacriNBA Would be a contract that keeps an injured player on our roster and hinders us from picking anyone else up. We can resign Landry later on, based on how he rehabs.

@JCMacriNBA Why not keep shamet if they're only gonna keep 12 players? You need 14 so why not keep 13

Fans will get mad at this but it’s a fair take. The elite teams have those crunch time killers. That may be the last step for Brunson to make to complete his ascension. His clutch stats are good but Shump means game-winners, daggers. Close the deal. Jalen has it in him.
First Take@FirstTake

"I love [KAT and Jalen Brunson] on paper. ... I don't love that at the end of the game in the playoffs. It's not scary enough." —@imanshumpert on the new-look Knicks 👀

This trade has a lot of moving parts. Because New York is over the first apron, they cannot take back more money in the trade and will need to send out an additional $8.8M in salary. Minnesota is over the apron and cannot take back more salary from what is sent out. Enter the third team- Charlotte Besides Keita Bates-Diop ($2.6M), New York has DaQuan Jeffries, Duane Washington Jr. and Charlie Brown Jr. available for a sign-and-trade. Jeffries, Washington Jr. and Brown Jr. are eligible because they finished the season on the New York roster. A sign-and-trade has to be a minimum of three season, with only the first year guaranteed.

The Knicks-TWolves-Hornets trade involving Julius Randle, Karl Anthony Towns and Donte DiVincenzo is still on track, but not completed yet. The expectation is early this week, sources tell ESPN, which means the players involved will not be at media day as camps start to open Monday.

With Knicks waiving Marcus Morris Sr. and Chuma Okeke, veteran Landry Shamet is currently well positioned to make the 15-man roster. Obviously a fluid situation as the details of the Karl Anthony Towns trade have yet to be finalized.

@JCMacriNBA This has to be the best signing made for my Knicks. Don't have to worry about no more, "rumors". Not to mention, recently getting diagnosed with, "Bell's Palsy" and locking down on more money for more years?! Thumbs Up!!!

Some real 4D chess by the Sixers, giving a guy who treats his conditioning like a leisure activity nearly 200 million additional dollars through his mid-30’s. I’m sure this April he’ll be in the best shape of his life.

@EddiePresti_ Am I missing something with this AD talk? Very talented big who can be a monster on any given night... who is also making a lot of money is far from durable. We trade for him, he sneezes, and then sits for most of the year... is that the plan?

@JCMacriNBA So you move away... you don't pull a 7' Footer down towards you, to potentially hurt yourself or him. He should be suspended a game.

@ToddyWoddy1330 That wasn't the trade though. We also got Precious and Malachi. Plus, the pick is a 2nd. This post is a little misleading. We got a wing that can defend and more depth. Great trade. RJ and IQ weren't going to make it here for the price we needed them at.

This is brutal. The DPE is worth half of Mitch's salary. The Knicks have to stay under the hard cap of $172.3M because of the DiVincenzo signing. Any player they acquire via trade with the DPE has to be on an expiring contract, and the exception can only be used on one player

@JCMacriNBA They also had to give up Williams which means their middle is depleted and trusting an older Al and a forever injured KP can't be a solid idea that the whole organization is behind.

I was extremely intrigued by the idea of Jrue on the Knicks, but they had no business trying to beat what the Celtics ended up paying for Jrue, not at this stage. Still a bummer to see him go to Boston. That team is going to be hell to play.
