@PinballWiz4rd I remember debating my dad about this. One of those times I realized how much I hated consequentialism. “It’s the same product isn’t it? Why would your’s be better?” “It’s better because I’ve put myself into it and I’m a narcissist who loves myself too much I guess.”

The idea that food you’ve grown and harvested yourself is a chore instead of a luxury, and that the converse, food grown by someone else, is a luxury, is one of the sickest inversions of modern life.

@MojaveArtClub Something poetic about how she has witch physiognomy and he has reddit gamer physiognomy. It's literally an icon of cuckholdry. Telling men they need to settle for this kind of creature is probably one of the main factors damaging the credibility of Christianity on the right.

Red-Pill grows because the religious crowd and feminist crowd both are largely selling men delusional lies that are not even well packaged.
Trevor Sheatz@TrevorSheatz

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

You see, the whole point about Strauss’s “esotericism” is that it only works if you don’t run around bragging to everybody about how esoteric you are. But they just can’t help themselves. It’s impressive how much Strauss’s current worst enemies are his own students.

Analyzed Leo Strauss's teaching transcripts from the Strauss Center Archives. Top 10 Thinkers: 1. Socrates — 13,800 (50% more than Plato — he teaches about Socrates, not "Platonism") 2. Aristotle — 12,885 3. Plato — 9,181 4. Nietzsche — 5,401 (4th, above Kant and Hegel — not peripheral at all) 5. Kant — 5,228 6. Hegel — 4,686 7. Rousseau — 3,726 8. Hobbes — 3,478 9. Locke — 3,301 10. Thucydides — 2,711 The Silences: • Plotinus: 0. The founder of Neoplatonism doesn't exist in 7.3M words. Strauss's Plato is not a Neoplatonic Plato. • Montaigne: 4. • Schmitt: 13. Given their famous exchange, strikingly absent from the classroom. • Gadamer: 10. Same pattern — intellectual relationships lived in writing, not teaching. • Heidegger: 276. Despite Strauss's deep formation in Heidegger, modest classroom presence. Key vocabulary: • "Nature" dominates everything — 12,174 hits. The master question. • Athens vs Jerusalem: 87:1 ratio (2,694 vs 31). The classroom was overwhelmingly Greek. • "Esoteric" appears 51 times. "Esotericism" 21 times. The man who rediscovered esoteric writing almost never says the word. Consistent with the principle itself. • "Gentleman": 724 — way more than people realize, concentrated in the Gorgias. The big finding for scholarship: Maimonides (87) and Alfarabi (40 combined) are modest compared to their centrality in Strauss's published work. Real divergence between the writing program and the teaching program. Same with Machiavelli.

Ratings on these sites have always been stupid, there's so much kino below 8/10 and tons of mid or even garbage over 8/10. List sites are only good for keeping track of your own watch history and gauging interest All this to say that crying about Frieren will never not be funny

Most Canadians are financially uneducated and spend too much. Like sorry but half the country isn’t in poverty. Everyone says they live paycheque to paycheque because of lifestyle inflation.

You’ll never see anyone who performs extremely well academically do performative aesthetic “studying” like this, these types barely scrape by. All of their material is external, hardly any substance internalised Doesn’t just apply to studying either. Many life lessons in there.

@Benthamsbulldog @hexane360 That’s not the interesting part of the veil of ignorance. Is Spengler applying the veil of ignorance when he speaks of the race-consciousness of all the different Cultures instead of only his own?

Thinking that the veil of ignorance gives a fair way to make societal decisions doesn't require thinking everyone is the same, obviously, and if you are making errors this trivial, then you should not be opining on the subject.

@NormalThings8 @direYGO Yummy still sees play, just not the mitsu version which cares less about all those things lmao. In the TCG we’re pretty close to cutting marsh to 1 and already taking out linkuriboh because the deck is so tight even at 60 lol. Also do you really think we wouldn’t play harmonia.
