@AsiaKakumei36 @IAmDouglasKim A lot of white racists also want white people out of Japan for the record. Honestly I think it makes me angrier to see a white person behaving poorly in Asia than an African beating up an innocent white person in the west.

What's funny about being upheld as a paragon of reason is that Einstein was really a very very intuitive & spiritual physicist. SR would have been figured out within the decade; Lorentz-Poincaré were making progress towards it & in general photonics was gonna happen. But GR? Grossman handed him Ricci but the leap was pure shape rotation & abstract intuition. This same intuitiveness also caused some of his greatest missteps--see QM & lambda--his convictions about both were fundamentally aesthetic Ironically lambda seems to have been eventually retroactively justified. Genuine tragicomedy. Right for the wrong reasons, retracted for the wrong reasons, justified for reasons he'd have hated. The world is flat after all.

@RealJohnRose In parts of Appalachia there are towns where the topography forces single family homes close together (especially older neighborhoods), and in some towns a good number of amenities can be in walking distance. Best of both worlds imo.

The Christian female reaction to the wife post from what I have seen thus far has been “your wife was probably a wh0re too!” Really selling the whole Christian wife and family thing. I could not invent a worse pitch for a faith or lifestyle in a lab.

I try not to discuss theology, but the idea that someone is reformed thus we MUST associate is odd. If a child m0lester did prison time + converted to Christianity I still would not want them to live next to me. I CERTAINLY wouldn’t recommend them as a husband to some poor girl.

@RealJohnRose If you are gifted with the superpower of never getting angry, then you'll never have beef with anyone because it's almost always a two person affair. Closest thing I have to beef with anyone is irl colleagues who hate me for expressing mildly conservative opinions time to time.

She is correct from traditional Catholic point of view. In the Middle Ages there was strict separation of genders in churches, men were on one side and women on the other. Courtship did not take place in church but was pre-arranged and under supervision of families. "Dating" is a completely modern phenomenon and it would be at odds with how medieval Christians would view the world, to put it mildly. In the Middle Ages, even looking too much in direction of women at mass would be seen as completely inappropriate. It annoys me how in modern times, whenever there is some social problem that emerged very recently because of specific technological and ideological trends (and men not being able to find women to marry definitely is a social problem, don't get me wrong), people start talking as if whatever existed before was some ancient old tradition in the West. Like thinking that modern dating and "asking out" women in church would be something that Catholics in the past would be fine with, especially if it was someone who was a total stranger to community. This is something that people would only maybe be okay with in second part of 20th century. Not before and I guess not anymore either. Here's the real issue here. When people tell men "you should find a woman in the church" it's usually a very bad advice for many reasons, but it could just be a clumsy way of saying "you should take active part in a church community where eventually you will meet families that have single women and a connection could be made, when you are seen as part of this community." This would be a traditional way of approaching this. So when the issue is presented like this, we can then discuss what the real problem is that there don't seem to be many thriving Catholic communities like this. People keep to themselves, there aren't many social gatherings. There would need to be more communal events, communal meals etc. like it was in the past. For example in the past, people would gather in the churchyard after the mass and socialize. In medieval England you had parish ales, fundraising events organized by the church where ale was sold and people would socialize, there would be music, dancing. But for some reason people don't really want to socialize anymore, they don't want to go on such events, they just come on mass and leave, and then they complain why they can't find friends or women. They think that they should just randomly approach women instead, which is a completely dumb advice and doesn't work for majority of men, and if it does work out for you then you could do this in any other place than in the church.

@sun_rise_coast @cirnosad Nothing in particular, but in the early USSR had a lot of voices who were interested in sexual liberation and free love, obviously this was reversed under Stalin but I think more than anything the curtailing of the church's power weakened Russia morally.

@MojaveArtClub Something poetic about how she has witch physiognomy and he has reddit gamer physiognomy. It's literally an icon of cuckholdry. Telling men they need to settle for this kind of creature is probably one of the main factors damaging the credibility of Christianity on the right.

Red-Pill grows because the religious crowd and feminist crowd both are largely selling men delusional lies that are not even well packaged.
Trevor Sheatz@TrevorSheatz

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)
