With the announcement of Jonathan Rue's resignation as the senior pastor of @dvchurch we again enter a season of transition for the future of this good church. Am I surprised to be in this place again? More surprised that I am still alive so I can hopefully help in the process.

CT scan results came back and my oncologist used the words "marvelous", "wonderful", "unusual", and "uncommon" to describe what they show. "There is no longer any evidence of metastatic disease." I would add "miraculous" to that descriptive list:)

@PeteGreig @vineyardusa Thanks so much Pete. As always you have shown your deep integrity and grace. I’m so thankful for your elucidation on the situation from your vantage point. We continue to pray for you and uphold the situation here in New Zealand.

A LOT of people have been asking me to explain my role in Vineyard Anaheim’s decision to withdraw from @vineyardusa and particularly my subsequent resignation from its Board. I’ve been holding my peace, but now it’s time to speak >>> dirtyglory.org/blog/2022/4/1/…

Tears come uninvited to us all in the end. But joy does not. It is a butterfly in autumn, an illusive melody waiting to be named. Our surprising, unsolemn duty, therefore, is not just to weep at life's tragedy but to seek and savour its bounty with fierce delight... (cont’d)

Hope is greater than despair. Love knocks fear to the curb. Joy persists even in pain. Peace can reside even in chaos. Jesus can hold all parts of us together.

My latest scan shows that cancer has not grown or spread since we ended the clinical trial of chemotherapy in January! We rejoice in this good news and are so grateful for the many answered prayers – and for all the loving people who prayed those prayers:)

Contemporary culture is all about the exploration of the self-my feelings, my dreams, my sexuality. The book of Proverbs is all about navigating relationships well-with God, friends, parents and even fools! The Proverbs-life is way better than the self-life!

Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard & unkind. We think too much & feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness & gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent & all will be lost…. - Charlie Chaplin

There are so many things that I am grateful for today. I am truly blessed in the midst of this trial. But the joy of old friends reaching out across the years and miles to reconnect is such a gift. I am so grateful there was meaning in our meeting, even if it was decades ago:)

Things that have been lost so far in the clinical trial: 20lbs of body weight, big chunks of hair, small bits of dignity. Things I am hoping to hold onto as we head into the 2nd cycle on Monday: a sense of humor, a hope this is worth it, an ability to smile:) #livingonprayer
