A slimmed down primary curriculum is much needed but let's put one thing in the bin straight away. Cursive handwriting. Seren's Year 7 teachers told her she doesn't need to join. Why are we breaking our backs in primary to get them to join? Madness.

This is so sad. One of the most incredible dramas I watched as a kid was Glenda in Elizabeth R - and being utterly fabulous with Morecambe and Wise - as well as bewitching, intelligent and glorious in her movies. A wise and compassionate MP and a pioneer as King Lear.

Someone working part time, say 4 days a week, a 0.8 full time equivalent contract would be paid pro rata 0.8, 80% of the full time salary. This is because they do 80% of the teaching that a full time teacher would do. That makes sense. However..." @MumsyMe @FlexTeachTalent 1/2

If you don’t go to @sirjohnmonash when you visit the Battlefields, you absolutely should. It’s the best museum on the western front - the immersive film/Hamel story is superb, and the phone app approach makes it genuinely self-led. The tower is just a glorious view

As a pastoral senior leader you (rightfully) have lots or safeguarding, attendance & behaviour meetings. Essential to invest time consistently talking to academic senior leaders on T&L & curriculum. Culture & behaviour impossible to separate from T&L.
