@kristenhowerton Look at Lands End sustainable down alternative. Not super spendy (often hs sales or coupons) and mine is hands down the best at keeping me warm. Not like cold Minnesota weather but it works for gets-below-freezing-in-winter (NC).

Talk to this California girl about winter coats. Some upcoming travel is necessitating my whole family get some really warm coats. We are WIMPS and will be outdoors a lot. Are these packable down coats at UNIQLO/Land's End sufficient or do I need more? Need non-spendy options.
