I was on a KLM long-haul flight from the Netherlands when a fellow passenger had a medical emergency onboard. Together with two other passengers, I stepped in to help. Today, at the closure of the retreat for the newly elected NRM Members of the 12th Parliament, I hosted them at Ngoma State Lodge. We toured the farm and walked to the bridge between River Mayanja and River Kafu, an area with historical significance linked to our liberation struggle, including the 1984 NRA attack on Masindi Barracks. I cautioned these young leaders against corruption, especially in Parliament. I also reiterated our long-standing message of moving Ugandans from subsistence living to the money economy, as demonstrated by the transformation of the cattle corridor through dairy farming.
