Don't players have to sign to stay beyond the weekend due to WHL rules. Pretty sure for insurance purposes they can't pay exhibition games without being signed.

Couldn't find any for the other 7 teams (Kamloops, Moose Jaw, Prince George, Red Deer, Regina, Saskatoon, Seattle) so I guess they have no NCAA-related losses - for 2025-26 anyway.

A thread here.....I did a bit of research on how many WHLers are leaving the WHL early for the NCAA next year. I was only interested in players who were eligible to play in the WHL next year and only in players who are listed by Eliteprospects as headed to the NCAA for 2025-26.

I’m told #STLBlues prospect Tomas Mrsic has committed to Colorado College. 2024 fourth-round pick had 90 points in 65 games with the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL last season. Led the team in scoring.

Klingberg prorated $1m base and $350K signing bonus. The bonus is signing not performance so it counts this year. He’s essentially $1.74m in cap space due to mid season SB. Oilers Can see how he does for next six weeks and decide if they want more RD depth. *** addition*** It’s a contract with a cap hit of 1.74M. If they’re in LTIR it uses up the full $1.74m. If they’re under the cap then only $824K (actual cash he is taking home) will count against their cap.

This gives the Raiders four O/A. The acquisition of Lukas Kral earlier this week gives them 3 imports. If you ask me, it's all pointing to O/A import Krzysztof Macias not returning to the Raiders?
