Bill Maher: “Bill Gates says in 10 years… AI will do most things humans do… In this world that they are talking about, that’s going to be great. What do people do, and how is money generated if nobody has to do anything?” Tristan Harris: “What happens when all of the GDP coming from the U.S. comes from AI and not human laborers? The incentive is I’m going to put all my money into data centers. Electricity prices go up for regular people. What I want people to get about this is not to scare you… This is headed to an anti-human future.” Bill Maher: “You should definitely be scaring people. Totally F*CKING scare people! It’s the scariest thing.”

On Iraq when the politicians fooled most evby. into believing in non-existent WMD, they atleast had the CIA to back them up. This time Trump's horseballs about an imminent threat from non-existent Iranian nuclear weapons don't even have that. france24.com/en/live-news/2…

This isn't the Warsaw Pact. You don't dictate to allies in NATO like happened in the Warsaw Pact. And Burns could have mentioned Trump's tariff edicts also.
Christiane Amanpour@amanpour

"I've never seen an American president, not just in our lifetime, in the last two centuries of American history, be that critical of a British prime minister." @RNicholasBurns tells me "a fundamental mistake is: disparage your allies, make life difficult for them at home, you really can't expect them to be with you in a fight that they didn't start

Pierre Poilievre needed an image change. Given the climate of the times he has to be less the guttersnipe and more statesman-like. With his trip to U.S. and U.K. he's off to a very good start.

@nspector4 How about Allies saying ‘if you want our support on the war, end the tariff war you started against us.’

Terrible how Trump's naked aggression against Iran has totally buried the fiasco that is his tariff war - the Supreme Court declaring his tariffs illegal and his ignoring that and outrageously hitting allies with a new ten percent levy.

So incredible. Comey of course is the same guy who got Trump elected in 2016 by re-opening an investigation into Hillary's emails late the campaign, a move which changed polls overnight and allowed Trump to win squeaker. washingtonexaminer.com/news/justice/4…

Was smart for Pierre Poilievre to go on Rogan. Rogan isn't MAGA. He slammed Trump's "insane" war with Iran.

An extraordinary display of ignorance. He forgets what Canada did in WW1, WW11, Korea, Afghanistan. He forgets trade agreements with Canada that his own negotiators said were great for the US - the latest example being Trump saying the 2018 USMCA was the greatest trade deal ever.
Canada Proud@WeAreCanProud

US vice president JD Vance launched into a series of attacks on Canada today, arguing that our government has taken advantage of the United States by underpaying on defence and creating an unfair trading environment. What do you make of Vance's comments?

We’ve lost a wonderful old pro of journalism with the passing of Hugh Winsor. Hugh was intrigued by the world around him and brought so much knowledge to his craft. He had such a good spirit. There was a twinkle in his eye which I’ll always remember. So long, Hugh.

Thanks Bruce for telling us that Sanderson's injury is a shoulder injury. It's ridiculous and a disservice to the fans that we are usually only told that it's an upper or lower body injury. Other sports leagues don't get away with that. @SunGarrioch

@LindseyGrahamSC @POTUS You’re forgetting senator that never has a president treated allies - hitting them with brutal, illegal tariffs being just one example - so badly. You reap what you sow.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.
