My grandfather walked 5 kilometers to send money to his brother. Took a full day off work, paid massive fees, money arrived weeks later. The history of payments has always been about who controls the rails: Western Union, banks, SWIFT. Every middleman took their cut. Poor people paid the highest fees because they had no alternatives. Not because blockchain is cool, but because my family deserved better financial infrastructure 30 years ago. Emerging markets won't adopt crypto because it's decentralized. They'll adopt it because it works better than what they have. When your local currency inflates 40% annually, USDC isn't speculation: it's survival. The West thinks crypto is about getting rich. The rest of the world knows it's about basic financial access.
