I had a lovely Christmas break, mainly because I feel like I reconnected to my boy who I have felt distant from after returning to full time work in the summer. And tomorrow I go back to work cos needs must 😭

As you watch the 'Home Alone' movies this festive season please remember children like 'This little lad'. He was literally left home alone for a week on a rough council estate with little food & no electric on the meter. His mam had a severe mental health crisis, she disappeared & his dad was in prison. He lived on a single a tin of baked beans, kidney beans (the only food in the cupboards) & tap water (council pop) for a week. He lit candles at night (the leccy had gone off) & read his Beano comic books given to him by a social worker on an earlier visit. He hummed music to himself to disguise the loneliness & silence. The nighttime was scary, this little was would jump at every noise. He went to school during this time wearing dirty clothes & did not say a word to the teachers to avoid going into care. He did not answer the door for fear of being taken into care. He was nicknamed 'Piss Boy' by the school bullies, because he wet the bed every night during this time. That week felt like years. When his mam returned she said she simply smiled & said she forgot about him. Not long after this he was taken into care. Thats when the real hell started! That little lad was me. Now...years later I draw from those difficult experiences to help others where possible. I have been very fortunate. I love the 'Home Alone' movies. When i watch them I always feel very proud of how far I have come 😁💙 #ThisLittleLad #NeverGiveUp #HomeAlone
