I have to look through a lot of videos of real species for anatomy/animation reference, and now so many of them are fake AI crap that doesn’t even resemble the real thing. Meanwhile, people in the comments are like: “Wow, amazing!” 👋🙂🫳 ☝️🙂🔫 ☝️💥🔫

I’m implementing a new gameplay feature where you can swim very close to certain stinging creatures to escape predators. It’s bittersweet, because you have to be careful not to get too close or you’ll take contact damage. Here’s a test with a Rangaranga and a bunch of Wakakakao:

I’ve been working all morning on a lightweight flocking behavior for the next update, using the new Wakakakao as a test subject. The way predators chase their prey needed improved logic. It was also a necessary step for implementing the upcoming passive and aggressive swarms.
