@candyclaws I would kill for a hat ever since I lost my favourite band merch hat on a trip.
Shirt is always a reliable pick. Having one other color option besides black is always appreciated.
English

@HendoSlice @FranziaMom The funny thing is I can’t tell if you’re talking about BCNR, black midi, or Geese. And I say that as a fan of all 3
English

@moremiddle8 Man this build up in the opening track is insane. I wonder when it gets to the good part.
English

@Kharn_300BO @j2ko_ @McMasterDaily I don’t see a callout for flatness on the drawing. Please submit an engineering change request form and a member of our team will follow up out within 3-5 weeks. Thanks!

@j2ko_ @McMasterDaily Verify product is built to print. I believe they're one sided in my last delivery from a verified, alternate source.
May require as-builts or red-lines be created and charged to vendor.
English

@Robotbeat @DJSnM Then the question becomes is there any plan/trajectory we can choose that minimizes harmful outcomes if the redirect fails part way through or the delta-v is less than expected.
English

@Robotbeat @DJSnM It’s more a question of “what if the redirect doesn’t go to plan?” E.g. we send the PPE module out there but it fails after a week, having only moved the impact site onto another country.
Not saying that would ever happen but it’s an interesting hypothetical.
English

If 2024 YR4 were to hit the Earth in 2032, it would be somewhere along this red line. Now, if it were positively identified as a hazard and its orbit adjusted it's easiest to move along this line.
And this means that some diversion scenarios involve nudging the impact point onto neighboring countries. China wouldn't be happy if India planned to push impact track eastwards to make it miss the earth since it potentially increases risk to China.
An asteroid impact can be a national disaster, but stopping one might be an international incident.

@7amzilton I watched Minecraft YouTubers VintageBeef and KurtJMac play through F1 2013, and I remembering thinking it was unlike any other racing game I’d ever seen. And the sounds were also unlike any car I’d ever heard before.
English

@kureijiollie Honestly I’m impressed.
The top result isn’t surprising but I never expected it’d be able to pick out the subtle East Asian accent.

@mishy_the_fishy @McMasterDaily It the clock is NIST certified, I imagine it would just be for its ability to hold time. The operator can set it to whatever time they want, but check back in 24 hours and the clock should read the same time to within X seconds. Something like that
English

@McMasterDaily Wait what function of this multi functional device has NIST cert? All three? Just temp? Temp/humidity? I doubt the time keeping portion is NIST as there would be no point without a seconds hand, plus battery powered means the person who sets it would need their own NIST cert

@ElBuenPingocho @HKlotsofnumbers @maximumpower55 @wearetherace Okay, so what’s the problem with doing it now? I see no downside.
English

@LPFR52 @HKlotsofnumbers @maximumpower55 @wearetherace Because it is unnecessary. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Since it's so easy to change, surely it won't be a problem the day that a woman joins the grid
English

The #F1 commission has met and issued a number of updates today including:
- Rookie sprint race now aiming for 2026
- Gender-neutral wording in 2026 regulations
- Driver cooling kit for 2025
- Grid will be closed up when car has withdrawn
What do you think of these❓
English

@ElBuenPingocho @HKlotsofnumbers @maximumpower55 @wearetherace Rephrase the question, why should we NOT change the wording if it:
a) is easy to do (literally just words on a page)
b) harms no one
Unless you just don’t want to see women in Motorsport. If that is your opinion, then at least I can follow your line of reasoning.
English

@HKlotsofnumbers @LPFR52 @maximumpower55 @wearetherace For years, but since you're such a scholar tell me. When was the last time a woman competed in a GP? I'll tell you. It's 1992. Over 30 years ago. Again, when fitness wasn't as crucial. Why change the wording for something that isn't even a reality and hasn't been for decades?
English

@ElBuenPingocho @maximumpower55 @HKlotsofnumbers @wearetherace But it doesn’t apply to everyone involved. Female drivers have had race starts, scored points, and taken part in numerous FP1 sessions. Unless you think the fact that there are no active female drivers means the rule book should completely ignore their existence…
English

@LPFR52 @maximumpower55 @HKlotsofnumbers @wearetherace Why change it if "his" already perfectly applies to everyone involved?
English

@mf_tomb @Vonsuss @GreenTextRepost But this is not how they do it. They would curve the grades to get the required pass%. And ideally make the test hard enough that it gets curved up, not down. No one is dumb enough to arbitrarily hand out zeros depending on when they hand in their test.
English

@Vonsuss @GreenTextRepost Yes this actually does happen. They can’t have too many people pass in Orgo as they have to limit the amount of people getting into medical school
