1/14 On manipulating history🧵. One of the key narrative points of pro-russian and pro-communist propaganda usually is this: "All opposed to Russia and not sharing their world view are nazis". This is of course a lie, but they use some cherry-picked facts to "back this up":

Russia's Pivot To Asia is in Vilnius right now. A beautiful city. But note the Ukrainian flags. We counted more Ukrainian than Lithuanian flags in Vilnius. It's the same in Tallinn. Is this a type of nationalism by stealth? It makes you wonder where you actually are and whose identity is more dominant.

Масштабная операция против самых разных российских мишеней, - от стратегических бомбардировщиков (заведомо легитимная цель) до гражданского поезда (это вообще-то по правилам войны терроризм) накануне раунда переговоров в Стамбуле - это ровно то, о чем предупреждал Алексей Арестович. А именно - Зеленский пойдет на все, чтобы любые переговоры сорвать. (Не то чтобы Путин сильно хотел договориться - нет, тоже не хочет). Она напоминает Пирл-Харбор. Сам по себе, как операция, Пирл-Харбор был потрясающий успех. Здесь еще круче: копеечными дронами нанесен ущерб на миллиарды, в том числе невосполнимый стратегический. Не говоря уже о том, что вообще-то по всем российским военным уставам удар по частям ядерной триады - это Третья Мировая. В смысле - повод для применения ядерного оружия. Вопрос в стратегических последствиях этого очень унизительного для России Пирл-Харбора. Для Путина они будут следующими: как и Рузвельт, он теперь поставит своей стратегической целью сделать так, чтобы будущая Украина не представляла собой подобной опасности для России. (Вообще-то Пирл-Харбор для Японии кончился Хиросимой, надеюсь, эта аналогия здесь не будет уместна). Кстати, почему самолеты не стояли в капонирах, удивительно. Видимо, пока дрон не клюнет, генерал не перекрестится. Второе важное последствие в том, что у Трампа теперь - если он хочет - есть полный предлог изъять себя из этого уравнения: ну, мол, ребята, если вы накануне переговоров проворачиваете такие удачные операции, то вы и без меня справитесь, бай-бай. Все такого рода операции, как и вера в чудо-оружие, имеют одну неприятную особенность: они одноразовые. Они не могут заменить нехватку войск, преимущество российской армии в дронах и пр. Теоретически Зеленский может полагаться на Европу, но Мерц только что показал себя во всей красе, соврав про Таурусы, и к тому же Европа может сильно побояться, что она растит в Украине что-то вроде Хамаса, - игрока не очень сильного, но отчаянного и без правил. Это хороший игрок для стирания России, но может выйти из-под контроля, как это было продемонстрировано сегодня. Ну и, конечно, каждая ракета, которую Путин запустит по Украине, будет использована украинской пропагандой в стиле Министерства Здравоохранения Хамаса, - мол, опять бьют по женщинам и детям, - но это на фоне случившегося Пирл-Харбора уже детали.

I cannot understand why people are surprised or shocked by Zelensky's nuclear weapon statement. Ukraine's desire to acquire a nuclear deterrent is a logical conclusion given the current state of the war and Western policy towards it. In fact, I would encourage the acquisition of a Ukrainian nuclear deterrent. It's the obvious solution to Ukraine's most pressing problems.
