"En América Latina, 200 millones de personas viven en las costas, es decir, el 30 % de la población, quienes sentirán de manera directa los efectos del cambio climático", destacó @LPicourt, directora ejecutiva de @ocean_climate, durante el panel El nexo océano-clima y la resiliencia costera: Construyendo un futuro sostenible en la #COP16. Picourt subrayó que América Latina es un pilar fundamental para la naturaleza, con ecosistemas clave como manglares, humedales y corales. “Debemos comprometernos a impulsar la sostenibilidad en esta región para proteger tanto la biodiversidad como las comunidades costeras”, señaló, en línea con el objetivo del panel de explorar estrategias sostenibles que fortalezcan la resiliencia de los ecosistemas y poblaciones costeras frente al cambio climático.
