They want to stop vaccinations because they say they cause autism (they don’t), but they also want to dismantle the Department of Education, which is responsible for funding public school services for… children with autism. Make it make sense.

@DrNeilStone Having an autistic brain is a naturally occurring part of human diversity. No need to waste time and money on research Dr.

We still do not know what causes autism. We do know that the MMR vaccine does not cause autism. We need more research on the cause of autism. We don't need more research on MMR as a cause of autism (it's been done and its not).

@_bookbabble_ @RedDeerAdvocate This has got to be one of the finest examples of a grossly unqualified, middle aged, white dude getting a job because of who he hangs out with that I have ever seen.

“A Red Deer restaurateur, who was often frustrated with COVID-19 restrictions” surely you mean “openly defied COVID-19 protocols” @RedDeerAdvocate. What a slap in the face to other restauranteurs who followed AHS protocol protocols.
The Breakdown@TheBreakdownAB

The dude whose restaurant accepted photos of dogs instead of the mandated vaccine passports during COVID is now the deputy chief of staff in the premiers office. Tracks. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli reddeeradvocate.com/local-news/red…

@SarJD123 @sipiysis I have become so exhausted advocating for my daughter’s accommodations that this year I quit completely and have started homeschooling. Can’t afford to, I am a single mom, but the advocacy work was literally killing me.

Jasper is a National Park, yes. But there is no NATIONAL firefighting service. THAT is up to the province. The Feds send HELP to the PROVINCIAL firefighters. This is a Danielle Smith and UCP fuck up. Not Trudeau. #JasperNationalPark #DanielleSmithIsUnfitToLead

She’s 34, unmarried and childless. @Newsweek thinks these facts make her a bad role model to young girls. Fuck you newsweek.

@draevans The spectrum isn’t linear so how can a person be “on” it. A person can have traits of the spectrum. Or certain spectrum traits.

Dr 🫥:. #Autism or #dyslexia. Anxiety kills
Some autistic people find certain phrases unacceptable. “On the spectrum” is one of them. What is appropriate & not offensive? I ask because for years no one has come up with words to satisfy everyone. Instead the messenger gets slatted instead of a journal paper.

Great news for Red Deer! Alberta’s government is investing $12.9 million over three years to expand the Centre for Innovation in Manufacturing Technology Access Centre (CIM–TAC) at Red Deer Polytechnic. This will expand student capacity and create modern learning environments to help graduates succeed in the economy of tomorrow.

You guys. I need advice. I really want to go back to school. for context- I work with refugees and I have always felt the pull to do more in the line of work. Idiot me at the age of 21 decided to be lazy & not get a degree only a diploma. So, I’m currently capped professionally

@spooooookyszn I returned to school as a 46 year old single mom to get a degree. I’m now doing my masters. All through AU. It’s not selfish, there are no rules about when you get to do things.

so then I was like, should I do online bachelors degree (the masters I want to take is already online so it’s no worries) Or should I suck it up for the next 4 years and just go to class. I am feeling really stuck on this and it’s making me really sad.

It was actually #AutismAcceptanceMonth @EPSBNews we surpassed awareness a long time ago. Your performative allyship posts are useless if you refuse to hire and pay EA’s and spend $$ on seclusion rooms. You’re pushing neurodivergent kids out of classrooms.
EPSB@EPSBNews

Our differences make us stronger! April was #AutismAwarenessMonth and Division schools continue to celebrate, learn from and support our neurodivergent friends and their talents. Together, we can paint the world with understanding and acceptance. #EPSB #yeg

Oh #RedDeer! Voter turnout in that town indicates nobody was taught that doing nothing (aka not voting) is an act of acceptance. This is why you don’t get nice things.

@CupeAB Who’s writing your socials @CupeAB? Using this quote is setting up a divisive outlook towards already marginalized children with disabilities. This kind of rhetoric is part of the problem, not solution.

Education workers in Alberta earn an average of $34,300 per year. Most have not had a wage increase in eight years. The work is important, but dangerous. Workers deserve better. wagingahead.ca
