A new @UN report says 4.9m children died in 2024 from preventable causes. Malaria was responsible for 17% of deaths in under-5s who survived their first month. Ending malaria in a generation is possible, if funding is protected & political will holds. buff.ly/neIrVg3

This was a great opportunity to share RAFT's findings - as RAFT is drawing to a close, meeting in person & discussing these important topics was really worthwhile!

African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA)
From #climatechange and drug and insecticide resistance to humanitarian crises and funding shortfalls, the risk of #malaria resurgence in #Africa, back to levels seen in the early 2000s, is very real. So, what can countries do to protect hard-won gains and get progress back on track? In a recent interview with BBC Focus on Africa, @JoyPhumaphi_, Executive Secretary of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), emphasises that member states must embed malaria prevention across development agendas, including climate policies. It should not be treated as a standalone health issue. A whole-of-society approach will be essential to sustain progress. Listen🎧⬇️ in for more insights.
