@D3GSolutions @DetroitC13531 @yonann Exactly - rather than investing in the index, which averages a 10 percent return or close. You gambled going long, using margins, small caps, 4 names etc. My dude - very few people if any beat the index long term. So what you did is called gambling, not investing.

@LStaysmith @DetroitC13531 @yonann No you're speaking about indexes. Which have pull backs. People invest in small caps and stocks that go belly up or flat for many years. I was a trader originally and then went long and got destroyed. I did use margin at times but I truly got destroyed in 4 names nose diving.

@DetroitC13531 @yonann Most wouldn't want to sell in my scenario. The point would be to pay off the home to have security for the rest of their life. The flip side is most say invest the money instead. First hand I did this and lost nearly 1 million investing. Instead I could have paid my home off.

@ahhdam1 @DetroitC13531 @yonann It really isn’t yours - if you don’t pay the taxes the county will take your home. My mortgage interest rate is 4 percent - I earn 10 percent or more just in index funds. I’ll probably never be able to borrow at 4 percent again, I’m keeping that cheap money…
