The term "haemophilia holocaust" is an international medical scandal in the 1970s and 1980s where thousands of people with haemophilia contracted HIV, Hepatitis C, and other diseases from contaminated blood clotting products. It is considered one of the largest medical disasters in history, involving the mass infection and death of patients who were supposed to be treated with life-saving therapies.

When using f8 @DHSCgovuk were warned of the high risk of HCV from large pooled doners. The State chose to ignore this and now they are ignoring HCV haemophiliacs. Sir Brian concluded “this was not an accident”. The State knowingly infected a vulnerable cohort. It is time to recognise this wrong doing. It goes against the medical ethics code “non- maleficence” do no harm. @NickTorfaen you have openly stated you do not want the courts time taken up with hundreds of individual claims. This will happen, the community is aware of cases on hold waiting for you to do the right thing. Government ignored the HCV risk in factor. So in effect it was deliberate infection. They knew it was in the large pools bled from prisoners and prostitutes. @NickTorfaen Minister why is there not a TEG round table for unethical research. Would it not be right and fair to involve the community that had their basic fundamental human rights stripped from them by the state. I am sure many campaigners and societies would welcome this open transparency for communication to enable the community to be listened and heard. @Quickieleaks I can't find anything about eugenics of haemophiliacs in your statement Carol, just a lot about HIV and the work you do and did. They must have blocked it like you say.

I want to add ALL haemophiliacs in the question. Because it seems haemophilia has been conveniently ignored through the compensation scheme. This vulnerable cohort have been lied too throughout their treatment. It wasn’t the best treatment available. It wasn’t the safest and many mild haemophiliacs did not need this treatment. It didn’t save lives…. It made their lives shorter and even more damaged than anyone could imagine. @NickTorfaen you have the power to end this battle that haemophiliacs have fought for decades. Nye Bevan the Welsh minister brought us our beloved NHS service. You could become the Minister who recognised the damage done to haemophiliacs and who puts an end to state abuse by compensating them for harm inflicted. “Whatever it takes” are words that are spouted off by ministers. Eugenics always springs to mind when I ask the question, "Why me? and why all the Haemophiliacs?" Why infect us time and time again? Why didn't the factor treatment get pulled straight away in the 70's after they see it spreading hepatitis amongst haemophilac children? Not an accident? #notrecognised

@NickTorfaen vulnerable haemophiliac children used for research is abhorrent. Offering £10-£15k for this state abuse is even worse! Shame on the British government if this happens. There had been no recognition for harm to all haemophiliacs. Risky F8 was too readily given for non life threatening reasons.
