John Healey resigned from Starmer's cabinet because Starmer didn't give him the money he was asking for. Now he is telling every Minister to stop asking for any additional money and stop spending money to save up money for new Andy Burnham plan! Stop trying to trick people!

🚨 NEW: The first preference votes in the Greater Manchester Mayoral election 🔴 LAB: 251,449 (-169,300) - 45.0% ➡️ RFM: 111,928 (+62,396) - 20.0% 🟢 GRN: 64,968 (+19,063) - 11.6% 🟣 RES: 46,289 (NEW) - 8.3% 🔵 CON: 41,021 (-27,925) - 7.3% 🔶 LD: 14,702 (-13,493) - 2.6% ⚪ IND: 2,969 (-47,335) - 0.5% 25.14% turnout

As we wait for the Manchester result it's worth remembering what the settled narrative was only a few months ago. Back then the consensus was if Andy Burnham was allowed to stand for Labour in a parliamentary by-election and won, Reform were basically a shoo-in. Even a few weeks ago the line was "Keir Starmer can't be ousted because all of the parties focus must be on the Mayoralty. If we get distracted Farage will sweep in".

The hypocrisy of Healey is astounding, he resigned from Keir Starmer’s Government stating the Prime Minister not raising enough for defence, now though staying silent when Burnham not committing at all to raising it ! So is he resigning his position now ? independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

Make no mistake Keir Starmer would have booted Diane Abbott from Labour for her open support for Putin’s Russia. ‘Andy’ has just welcomed her back.

Excl: Whitehall officials are growing concerned about how little time Andy Burnham has spent in Downing Street since becoming Prime Minister. At a Cabinet Office all-staff meeting earlier this week, First Secretary Louise Haigh even joked No10 was “extremely distressed” by how often the PM was away from the building – before stressing it was because he was “so dedicated and committed” to getting out around the country and delivering his agenda. Haigh also told officials to “take your cue from the Prime Minister’s ambition”, saying he was “not the kind of politician that has to have a full plan before he starts diagnosing the problems in the country”. She urged civil servants to bring forward ideas “no matter how risky or politically unpalatable it seems” and to “put it in front of us and let’s thrash it out”. thesun.co.uk/news/39930022/…

🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham is set to ban rapists from being released under the prisoner early release scheme

@dave43law All well and good but Burnham is going to have to face up to it, he cannot send his foreign secretary to stand on the world stage alongside other world leaders. Neither should he rely on his foreign secretary to make statements on his behalf regarding world tragedies.

🚨 BREAKING: Labour's Bev Craig has won the Greater Manchester Mayoral election 🔴 LAB: 309,525 - 66.3% ➡️ RFM: 157,178 - 33.7%

The reason the PM hasn't wished the Labour candidate good luck in this Manchester mayor contest on social media, is because he doesn't want to draw attention to the fact this was an election that didn't need to take place.
