So pleased for Bridget. She’s a formidable colleague, an absolute fighter for Labour values and will do a great job as Labour Party Chair.

Honour of lifetime to be Minister for Safeguarding. Quickly found contents overwhelmingly triggering. Did bravest thing I’ve ever done & told PMs team I sadly couldn’t stay. Victims deserve someone at their best. I wish my successor well & will do all I can to support them.

Delighted to be re-appointed Transport Secretary. First rail fares freeze in 30 years. 9 train operators in public ownership. 5 more coming. A new Road Safety Strategy. Northern Powerhouse Rail on its way. Free bus travel for kids this August. Lots done. Lots more to do!

An incredible honour to be appointed Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero @energygovuk

"Women have never achieved any change without being optimistic and without recognising that when we do get together, we can make a big difference. We just have to keep going." I spoke to @GraziaUK about my legal action against xAI 👇 graziadaily.co.uk/life/in-the-ne…

It is an incredible honour to have been appointed by the Prime Minister to serve as his Chief Whip and deliver the change in culture that he has promised colleagues and the public.

Proud to be asked to continue in Cabinet, driving forward the work of the Office for Equality and Opportunity. I will work across government to make progress on this serious agenda – on violence against women and girls, on equal pay, on child poverty.

Angela Eagle has been appointed as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs @defragovuk.

It’s a real honour to be appointed Health Secretary by Andy Burnham - 27 years after I worked on the first NHS Cancer Plan as a junior health minister. I’m looking forward to working urgently to improve maternity services, to take forward plans for social care, and to once again play a part in supporting our National Health Service, Labour’s proudest achievement. Most of all I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated NHS staff, carers, healthcare professionals and volunteers on whom we all depend. In leaving the FCDO, let me pay tribute to the brilliant diplomats and ministers I worked with at the Foreign Office, and to my fellow foreign ministers from across the world - for all the work we did together to support Ukraine, to recognise the State of Palestine, to keep the spotlight on Sudan and to treat violence against women and girls as the global crisis it is. The partnerships we build abroad make us stronger at home.

Absolutely thrilled the be appointed Education Secretary. For me there’s no more important job for any government than making sure young people have the best education, the best opportunities and the best future they can. Lots to do and I look forward to getting started.

Louise Haigh has been appointed as First Secretary of State, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office @cabinetofficeuk.
