Do you own a PSP? Pull the battery out and check if it is swelling. An alarming amount of PSP batteries are beginning to swell and even burst, causing fires. I learned this and told my friend who has one. He pulled it out, and it was swelling. Check yours, please.

I don’t know what is going on the past two weeks, but I keep finding new or rare species in the waters around Nova Scotia! Yesterday I observed this Gonionemus sp. — the second observation in the province! Nothing thrills me as much as seeing a jelly I haven’t seen before!

Common names can be confusing. You shouldn't confuse the Bigfin reef squid (Sepioteuthis lessoniana) with the Bigfin squid (genus Magnapinna). Or the European common squid (Alloteuthis subulata) with the European squid (Loligo vulgaris), also known as the common squid.
