Regarding the current L1 vs user aggregation layer debate: I’ve read all the blog posts from @hosseeb and @santiagoroel, and I’m halfway through the debate they had yesterday with @notthreadguy. Now, regardless of which side I’m on or who I think is ultimately right, I need to point something out: Massive respect to Santiago. > he raised $26M for Inversion, led by Dragonfly > he’s building an L1 > he’s been one of the most active angel investors in crypto over the past years and has serious skin in the game 99 out of 100 investors and founders in his position would choose to ignore these issues, avoid confronting uncomfortable truths, stay out of political conflicts, and pray for their bags (and definitely not FUD them). But Santiago is different. Most people would assume that because he’s an investor in all these projects, and even building his own L1, it makes no sense for him to contradict himself publicly, let alone push back against his own lead investor. However, facing reality head-on and trying relentlessly to solve these problems, while not stopping until you’ve shaken everyone awake publicly, is arguably the best thing you can possibly do for your project or your bags. It’s time for this industry to mature - and that can only happen if the people shaping it are willing to mature too.
