The death rate from COVID for those aged 0-19 years is 0.0003%. A 1-in-333,333 chance of dying. They shut down schools for that. Many disadvantaged children have permanent learning loss, which will translate to shorter life expectancies. Others were swept into an unprecedented mental health crisis. The authorities sacrificed large numbers of the young for a tiny minority of very old. Catastrophic.

@cadewebb Why not multitask? 🤷‍♀️ Both defense & offense have been truly awful all season long. They couldn’t pass or run or stop either of those on defense. I can’t begin to think of the most pressing issue… because it’s all pressing.

If you’re talking about Smith vs. Bowman/ QB selection as a reason this season went south, I feel confident you are completely missing the point. This is the worst Oklahoma State defense of most of our lifetimes. 48 points couldn’t beat a 6-4 Texas Tech team. Start there!

@CalltoActivism This will affect kids who need to slow down or speed up growth. It’s mostly going to limit kids who have hormone irregularities who are growing/maturing too fast or too slow. This is gender affirming care.

I love Mike G… nobody ever has been better to me personally when I was at OSU than him. He has on multiple occasions taken the time to speak or acknowledge me since my time there as well. I love him… I truly do…. But … suddenly… and with only the explanation/excuse of NIL and the portal… it does appear like our program is in disarray…. I’m Heartbroken by it…. There are surprise babies born every single day in the US. Also, abortion includes care for miscarriage and unviability of wanted fetuses. Abortion is not intention.

@MagicRubyjames @CoshaPickles Most states have a registration deadline so the voter can be verefied at the site with their ID. If you aren’t registered by Sept 1 you can’t vote in that state, generally speaking.

So Cobb County just mailed absentee ballots out today, a judge said they have until the 8th by 5 to get them in long as they’re post marked by the 5th; but Cobb County GOP appealed & the GA Supreme Court just ruled they have to be in tomorrow by 7pm. This is voter suppression

@PamKeithFL Part of the problem with Cobb County is that out Post Office is notoriously bad in the last year. They lose packages frequently. Deliver things 3 months late.

It is now becoming clear that GA failed to mail out THOUSANDS of vote by mail ballots, and I am only seeing democrats on social media complain about not receiving them. This is unacceptable. The ONLY solution is for GA to send those ballots

@aaronabubo @305to214 @realgirl_fieri I was the room mom for 2 years. I would gladly have bought everything. I sent out a sheet because that’s the norm, but still over purchased just in case. It would save a lot of effort to have 1-2 assigned, vetted volunteers.

Guys are in my mentions complaining that a woman with an eight week old infant wouldn't take time away from the baby to make sure he has a hot dinner on the table when he comes home. This is the point I am making : You, as father, should want that mother to spend as much time as possible bonding with that baby or caring for herself. Putting your desire for a hot meal above these two shows a kind of whacked out thinking that has twisted your priorities. You are a grown man, you don't need her to make you dinner, especially in this situation. If you are old enough to make a baby, you're old enough to make a sandwich.

@mcewenba @janmartin @TheCatchFence Yes, it shifted. Was supposed to go on the west side of Atlanta and ended up in SC. But it wasn’t supposed to be a full blown hurricane 4-6 hours inland either. Should have gotten some rain & trees down. Maybe a tornado watch. Not once in a 1,000 year flooding.

Some places go 2-3 weeks without power after a hurricane. We always stock up before a hurricane with food and water for no power. Did the hurricane shift unexpectedly? I thought it followed the track predicted. I am not being mean just that i am in Florida and we were watching it for a while. And, I honestly do not know answer. We are watching one forming right behind it as well. Praying you get some relief soon.

I don’t think the national media is grasping the level of devastation in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, and VA. Whole towns have been washed away. Asheville is cut off from the outside world. 1.3 million people in SC are still without power. It’s really bad.

@Kidfears99 @MamaSitaa__ Laura, we’re both diabetic. But diabetes management is not a bathroom break and should never be treated as such. I’m just saying arguing against this may take away the extra points from all the kids. The credit would likely just go away, not be shifted for equality.

@LaceyMAnderson @MamaSitaa__ I was in a challenging magnet program but as a diabetic, I would have had to either (a) forego the extra credit or (b) let my body kill itself for 2 hours a day. That’s ableist and quite possibly illegal. How challenging the program is has zilch to do with it.

My daughter's math teacher has a rule that they only get one bathroom pass per week, AND, if they don't use it, they get academic extra credit. I am livid. But my daughter is mad that I want to email the teacher and CC the principal. Am I wrong here?

@coachskorn Four seconds can be attributed to needing to maneuver around a cameraman or photographer. If you institute that rule everyone on the floor must be still until the 1 minute mark.

@kmkeirns No blame on the coach here. They went into it with a “what do we have to lose?” mentality. The official accepted the petition, the review chose to change the score. If it had been denied on the spot for either issue this would be a non starter.

Honest question: If, as CAS's ruling indicates, the USA inquiry was late... who do you blame? Personally I think I blame whoever the official was that accepted the late inquiry but ... if I'm looking it on the USA side I blame Cecile for submitting it late.
