Literally spent an hour talking sht about FB and how I’d get off all these apps if I could. Had her! She hands me the phone. 10 min later I promised her I’d google it and here we are four days later and I still don’t know… so 30s. I’m in my late 30s. What gen is this? 🙃

Next time someone asks me my age, I’m gonna tell them the story of how I talked my mom off FB (bc suddenly, like a neurotic mom, I’m living my dreams through *her) and then couldn’t figure out how to do it for her in the app

And before everyone has a heart attack, I was inspired by this retroactively by my 11th gr English prof, who didn’t make me study HuckFinn as long as I could write a paper comprehensively explaining my aversion to writing something so profoundly out of touch to the time

Especially when I think about the sheer number of hrs we, as a studio, we’re made to listen/watch this concerto in school. Same shit from like 4 ppl a masterclass. Variety is the spice of life, and then you diversify it?? 👌🏽

I have a mentoree who told her professor she had no interest in learning Tchaik bc of the sheer volume of times it had been done. She offered Coleridge-Taylor as an alternative and her professor accepted it.

It is possible to have compositional respect for a piece and to also find it fcking boring. As a working violinist I feel like I have earned the right to be declarative about this.
