To 37-letni mężczyzna, który w chwili zbrodni w sierpniu 2011 roku miał 22 lata, był studentem i mieszkał zaledwie 500 metrów od zamordowanej dziewczynki. Obecnie jest żonaty i wychowuje dwójkę dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym. Sąd w środę zdecydował o tymczasowym aresztowaniu, a podejrzanemu grozi kara dożywotniego pozbawienia wolności. Na trop sprawcy udało się wpaść dzięki ogólnodostępnej bazie DNA, w której jego rodzina poszukiwała krewnych. Trop potwierdziły podwójne badania genetyczne wykonane w Gdańsku i Krakowie - to pierwsza sprawa w Polsce rozwiązana w taki sposób.
