UPDATE On The Lahaina Maui Fire Victims NEW: “Aloha from Lahaina, Maui. June 22nd update. As you can see, you still can't get into Lahaina. Access is still restricted. Nobody's rebuilding yet still 10 months into the fires” “To get a building permit, you have to go to the county. They now have a review board. You have to fill out this this paperwork. It's just endless, and it takes forever. It's a building permit process review board. Just everything's just being slowed down and dragging on, and you wonder why. And, um, so the army of engineers have said they cleaned out 1200 lots, residential lots of debris, ashes, toxic. I don't know what I still don't know. I'm not an expert. What's toxic? They’re now slowly doing commercial lots. Like, 40 commercial lots have been cleared. They said they cleaned out 2,000 burned vehicles. I think it's all moving slow, but, you know, people say, well, here, we're on an island. But, anyway, you have to wonder why. I'm just reporting. You guys decide. So the 5 victims have to leave their hotels July 1st. There's these little container homes in Kahului they're supposed to go into. Um, only one building permit has been issued so far. Crazy. So these are the little tiny container homes in Kahului for fire victims, but, you know, so many people have left the island. They've given up. It's sad.“

Life under Biden sucks ass for us middle class. I’ve also found if I don’t have the same political views as the boss I don’t get pay raises like those that do.

8% wage increase that due to Covid most employers used as an excuse not to increase since 2020, so 5-8% wage increase over 4 years, typical rent in our area has went from 1200 to 1800 weekly average food went from 200 to 300, Utilities are up over 40% and Biden special green taxes added $60 to a $120 electric bill and that's on top of the 40% increase! So yes people received a percentage increase not typically seen annually but it was really a 4 year increase, but I can tell you the added jobs here are part time jobs, definitely not the typical strong job market like when Trump was in office, and lots are still unemployed with benefits running out, no job available that makes sense for them to take so lots are trying to make ends meet with a mix of government benefits, cash jobs and gig work, so even though the numbers don't count them as unemployed they are all realistically looking for a job that pays enough to actually make it with just their pay.

There’s more: it also calls for a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains. It’s only for households worth at least $100 million. But what exactly does that mean? It means that a large portion of entrepreneurs and early employees of successful companies could go bankrupt. Based on your equity holdings, you may be worth $100 million on paper and you’ll need to pay 10s of millions in taxes to the government… before you have any $$ in your bank account. You might need to borrow money to pay your tax bill. So, the more successful your company, the higher the valuation, the more… in debt you are?! This has the potential to eviscerate innovation in the US. We felt compelled to list a market on whether a wealth tax will be implemented…I hope the odds are low.
