🇫🇷 The Louvre heist took just about four minutes: new details emerge about the daring robbery According to Le Parisien, the thieves stole nine out of 23 items from the collection of jewels belonging to Napoleon I and his wife Joséphine. Among the stolen pieces were treasures of the Second Empire, including parts of Empress Eugénie’s ceremonial jewelry sets. The Empress’s crown was later found outside the building — shattered. “We’ve reviewed the security footage: they [the robbers] weren’t targeting people, they entered calmly, smashed the display cases within four minutes, took the loot, and left. No violence, it was all very professional,” said French Culture Minister Rachida Dati on TF1. French police have launched a large-scale investigation.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of civilian lives in the recent Pakistani aerial strikes on Afghanistan. A tragedy that claimed the lives of women, children, and aspiring young cricketers who dreamed of representing their nation on the world stage. It is absolutely immoral and barbaric to target civilian infrastructure. These unjust and unlawful actions represent a grave violation of human rights and must not go unnoticed. In light of the precious innocent souls lost, I welcome the ACB’s decision of withdrawing from upcoming fixtures against Pakistan. I stand with our people at this difficult time, our national dignity must come before all else.
