Today, I was at the Eko Africa Legacy Summit held to mark the 50th anniversary of Eko Hotels and Suites at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island. In Lagos, we remain focused on the future of culture in African hospitality and travel and on the important role these sectors continue to play in positioning our state as a leading destination on the continent.

For the avoidance of doubt, Mobil Road is not flooded. The video currently being circulated is an old clip from January. The section shown in the video has already been addressed, and the retaining wall construction there is visible evidence of the progress made. The temporary damming in that area was deliberately carried out to enable work to continue effectively on other sections of the canal project. The flooding reported last week occurred on Laura Stevens Street, and investigations by our monitoring team confirmed that it was caused by indiscriminate dumping of refuse into the canal by members of the community. This act of blockage was captured on video during monitoring operations. At the moment, stabilisation works are ongoing under Gang D, alongside the clearing of the diversion channel to ensure the free flow of water and ease the backflow pressure affecting Mobil Road and Laura Stevens. We will continue to monitor the situation closely while ongoing interventions are sustained to protect lives, property, and critical infrastructure. #CleanerLagos #GreaterLagos

The proposed infrastructure upgrade plans will prioritize structural rehabilitation, improved sanitation facilities, and the creation of a more conducive environment for traders and residents alike.

I joined the airport reception for the First Lady yesterday. It was a worthy encounter with our dearest Yeye Asiwaju Senator Oluremi Tinubu OON, CON, who radiates exemplary confidence, remarkable warmth and incredible grace. Somebody has asked me what I was discussing with the First Lady. I threw the question back at him. “What will you say if you have a few seconds with the First Lady?” He was stuck. You?

Today, I also spent time with our APC women and youth leaders from across Lagos State. We spoke about the future of our party, but more importantly, the future of Lagos and the kind of state we want our children to inherit. Lagos moves forward when we stay united and keep the needs of ordinary people at the center of every decision. That remains my commitment. To keep working for a Lagos where young people can dream bigger, women have more opportunities to thrive and everyone feels seen and valued. There is still work ahead, but together, we can build an even greater Lagos for everyone.

Today, I met with Local Government and LCDA Chairmen, alongside APC leaders across Lagos, ahead of the party primaries. We share a strong belief that Lagos must keep moving forward with leadership that listens and delivers for the people. Our strength has always come from staying connected to the grassroots and understanding the everyday realities of Lagosians. As I always say, the journey ahead is about service, trust, and building a Lagos where every LGA and LCDA has a fair opportunity to grow and succeed.

Today, I hosted the maiden edition of the Onigbongbo LCDA Mega Health Outreach, offering comprehensive healthcare services to more than 500 residents in Onigbongbo LCDA. A key highlight was an extensive health education session, during which medical professionals sensitized residents on chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes, stressing the importance of early detection, healthy living, and regular medical checkups. The outreach also featured a dedicated eye care section where residents underwent basic eye screenings, received free reading glasses, and got medications for different eye-related issues. Furthermore, a family planning unit was available, where healthcare professionals educated residents on reproductive health and provided information about various contraceptive methods accessible to the community.

We appreciate Lagosians for showing up for last Saturday’s environmental sanitation exercise. Cleaner streets, clearer drainages results to a healthier environment. Seeing people come out to clean their surroundings and take responsibility was encouraging. It reinforces that keeping Lagos clean is a shared responsibility. Well done to everyone who contributed. Lagos works better when we all play our part. @jidesanwoolu @drobafemihamzat @gbenga_omo @gboyegaakosile @LanreBajulaiye @BarrBimbola @Mr_JAGs @Riddwane #AGreaterLagosRising #LASG

Following the symbolic flag off of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise along the Mushin Agege Motor Road corridor on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, I wish to provide further clarity on the modalities of the programme as we prepare for the first exercise on Saturday, April 25th, 2026. The exercise will hold every last Saturday of the month between the hours of 6:30 am and 8:30 am. During this period, there will be controlled movement across the state to allow residents carry out thorough cleaning of their homes, surroundings and drainage frontages. Our enforcement officers from the ministry, LASEPA, KAI, LAWMA, and local government sanitation inspectors will conduct physical inspections during and after the sanitation window to ensure compliance. Defaulters will be sanctioned in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017. LAWMA intervention trucks will go around to cart away bagged wastes generated during the exercise. I also wish to announce that there will be rewards for the cleanest Local Government Area, Local Council Development Area, and the cleanest street as part of efforts to encourage healthy competition and community participation. We urge all residents to take ownership of this exercise and join hands with the government in building a cleaner, safer and more sustainable Lagos. #AGreaterLagosRising
