Surviving the day? I woke up late completely missing the NY Opening and most of my First-30 trade window - which is fine by me considering how sloppy the gold looked Ended up focusing on the IsoCandles test and taking some scalp plays on MES and MGC using Smart Meter. You?

Plenty of money to have been made trading the second half of the NY session.

Sizing down just in case we get a super whipsaw at open. Opting for safety vs profits. If we move directional, I'll miss out. If we super-chop I'll take those losses. Traded gold for globex and asia last night. No need to press it today after that incredible candle premarket.

@freedomtradr I take trades based on the alerts. The only time I may not take them is if the trend band (8/13/21 emas) flatten as that shows consolidation. That line is the 200sma which helps me understand where we are in the greater market since I'm typically playing on the 15s-1m charts.

@LairdGains Do you take longs when price is below the red line?

Absolutely freaking beautiful evening. I took a look at NQ and it had some moves as well, but gold, she keeps doing me right.

No entry on that initial drop. Waited to see what price was gonna do and flipped timeframes down to the 15s. Took my signals and my trades. Other pic shows I could have kept trading.

30s vs 1m charts on TE and SM (candles, no meter)

When the Trend Band (8/13/21 ema's) flatten, you'll see shit like this visualized with my SM code. Nothing will save your account trading that crap. Also another reason I try to trade just the opening 30m where instruments get that volatility and directional move.

@m_schouten Oh for sure - I could see a run the other direction too, which is why I'm asking folks to help test. I made this more for those moments where I wake up in the middle of the night with the itch to trade, get the signal, take the quick profit, and go back to bed. 😉

@LairdGains Interesting result. Just be careful with small samples — 10 trades can look perfect even if the edge isn’t real.

Catching the pre-market drop was amazing. Playing the NY open sucked ass. Missed the big climb making breakfast. A bit noisy the past hour, but good profits with tighter stops. Here's the chart using Smart Meter. Note: MGC due to extreme volatility and price exposure.
