People who know they are obese and don't do anything about it, are just basically self harming and making a choice to be obese. And they would be a lot healthier and happier if they were to lose weight.

@LandyBwa @INTRSPCT @cokebeyc I've literally been overweight myself. Guess what, it was because I'd been lazy and neglected my diet, ate too much and didn't exercise. Funny enough once I sorted that out, I went back to a healthy weight. Unless you have a health problem, it is absolutely a choice.

@rockytonz @cokebeyc No, but all the people and media that have celebrated and normalised it over the years have caused some people to think it's fine and suffer because of it. Instead, obese people should be encouraged to lose weight and enjoy a healthier, higher quality of life.

@LandyBwa @cokebeyc Health problems are a genuine excuse. Although with the introduction of ozempic etc it can be managed. But let's not pretend people and the media haven't spent years celebrating and normalising obesity as if it's perfectly ok. Instead of encouraging health and quality of life.

@elliereeves You can literally just choose to not buy your kids a phone or allow access to social media? You can control what they can and can't do, you shouldn't need the government to parent your children. I have a 9 year old, and she will be given a phone ect when I decide she's ready.

@meddci @shinomeoww @cokebeyc Being ugly can't be helped, so it's unfair to use it against someone. Being obese however is self inflicted 99% of the time, and pretending it's ok despite all the health complications that will inevitably come from it is more cruelty than kindness.

When my daughter was about 12 I set the parental controls on her new phone. One of the controls was that she couldn’t go on it after about 8pm. One evening - around 9.30pm - I went into her bedroom and she was in bed on her phone. I checked the parental controls and they were still intact.
