I actually don’t hate Ben Simmons I just hate how he’s seen as a serious media personality that can influence awards. The kinds of people he has working for the ringer are anime pop-culture nerds that watch basketball on the side and are very skilled at sounding articulate. It doesn’t translate to actually knowing basketball. It’s entertaining when I watch Bill Simmons talk about basketball but he can host a 3 hour podcast about the latest survivor episode. That’s why I like Bill Simmons. I hate how he feels entitled to this god father figure of birthing an entire section of the media that never played sports in general much less basketball.

Leaving Scottie Barnes off of an all-nba team / defensive teams are because of people like this.
They hate players who are actually good at scoring the basketball or use their hyper athleticism to change games. They hate players like Luka and Scottie Barnes because it doesn’t fit how they see the game. Sort of like politics lol

@LakerCj I don’t think anyone except for LeBron fans(and I’m not implying you) would try to make that case.
It’s entirely unrelated. Not the same team or era anymore and in fact the Wizards are kind of loaded. He’d logically get more superteam-hop criticism for joining Trae/Davis.

I say this begrudgingly because I want LeBron James to stay with the Lakers.
But if he wants to solidify his goat case the team he’ll go to next season is the Washington Wizards because he would take them to the ECF. Nothing would make Jordan look worse than LeBron James at the same age taking a team MJ formerly played for a leading them into a deep playoff run.
