Parliament has passed the UK’s Tobacco and Vapes Bill to create the first smoke-free generation. From 2027 the legal age to buy cigarettes and tobacco will rise by one year every single year. Anyone born on or after 1 January 2009 will never be legally able to purchase them in their lifetime. Current adult smokers are completely unaffected, this only targets future generations.

@VSvHnD @50PlusGamer1970 @InsiderGamingIG It’s a natural attrition of market conditions and consistently poor output, along with brand mis-alignment towards end of Phil Spencer’s reign in charge. I genuinely don’t think it has anything to do with brand damage from going multi-plat, but just my opinion.

So it’s not a fair comparison. 🔸 Xbox have had a poor line-up of games for years, with nothing moving the needle

@DestinLegarie The brand needs invigorating, they need to get more aggressive on pricing (hardware & Gamepass) and they need exclusives that move the needle. They haven’t released a ‘ universally must have game’ arguably in last 2 generations.

I still don’t see how Xbox Exclusives solve the console sales problems. If the PS5 is still pacing 2-3M behind PS4 global sales (that price hike won’t help) next-gen won’t be some mega graphical leap. Games will still be spaced out. And Xbox seems behind Xbox One. Most people aren’t in a rush for a $1,000 PS6 or Xbox Helix. It’s a complicated question All console manufacturers need to consider.

Xbox had a problem selling consoles regardless of how their IP performs on PS. I’d ask you to define ‘poor sales’, though again you’d likely list what is poor to you, not the XB business.

I spent nearly all of 2001/02 playing this masterpiece in my dorm room on my Richie Rich roommate's Trinitron and PS2. We lived on the 18th floor of the PFT at WKU. Then one day near the end of the semester I got up & tripped over the damn controller cable and pulled the running PS2 off the shelf and it smashed onto the ground. I bet he's still pissed at me for that.
