Visit to the crash site of Lancaster DV403 of 617 Sqn. On a daylight raid on 24.6.44 to target was the V2 rocket site ‘La Coupole’, it was hit by flak on the bomb run & crashed. 3 crew bailed out, 5 were killed. Then went to ‘La Coupole’ & walked the vast structure & tunnels. 1/2
