Simply put, you lose your ability to project power. If you lose that ability, you're no longer capable of being the world's policemen. If you're not the world's policemen, you lose political and economical power. If you lose your political and economical power, you're China, only way more expensive and much less productive. I'd imagine you'd lose world reserve currency shortly after, too. There will potentially be a power vacuum, either filled by the EU or BRICS nations.
